Animals and Reiki

Reiki is ideal for use with animals because it is gentle and noninvasive.  Because of their inability to judge, animals are extremely receptive to energy work.  Whether an animal is in need of Reiki for a physical ailment or for anxiety and behavior issues, sessions do not cause stress, discomfort, or pain, and can yield powerful results that are often astounding.

Animal Reiki can help with all types of illnesses, ailments, and even allergies.  Veterinarians have reported that pre & post-surgical pet patients heal faster when given Reiki.

It has been known to ease emotional issues, and can help with dietary and eating issues.

For healthy animals, Reiki can help to maintain their health, enhance relaxation and provide an emotional sense of peace and contentment.

If the owner is the Reiki practitioner, the bond between pet and owner is often greatly enhanced. (Learn Reiki!)

For sick animals, Reiki can be a wonderful healing method as well as a safe complement to Western Medicine, Chinese Medicine, homeopathy, and all other forms of healing.

It has been shown to reduce inflammation, increase circulation, improve breathing and appetite and help alleviate pain.  As in humans, Reiki can reduce the side effects of chemotherapy for animals with cancer and can speed up recovery time and healing after surgery.

For dying animals, Reiki is a powerful yet gentle way to provide: comfort, relief from pain, fear, and anxiety, and can help ease the transition to death.  It can also help bring peace and comfort to you and your family during a heartbreakingly difficult time.

Reiki has been extremely effective with animals suffering trauma.  Often rescue animals have been abused or neglected and as result suffer and behave badly.  Reiki is now being practiced daily on animals in SPCA shelters locally and all around the country because they have found the practice to be helpful to most of their wards.

Beloved family pets that have been lost and missing or have suffered a traumatic injury, like being hit by a car, may also benefit from Reiki.  In one case, I had an owner report that their traumatized dog returned to her pre-trauma personality after a few Reiki treatments.

Reiki is unique in animal care in that it can be done long distance.  Distance healing is particularly helpful for fearful, nervous, hard to transport animals and for feral animals.  Some pet owners prefer distance healing simply because they prefer their pet to stay in the comfort of home without the added stress of a visitor.

I have 30 years experience working with animals and have worked with horses, dogs, cats, small mammals, birds and exotic pets.  I have worked with these creatures in all stages of health and illness.  I have also been very effective and had great success with long distance sessions.

If it isn't yet clear, allow me to state for the record that I adore animals.  I promise I will treat your baby as if they were my own.
