Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer

BROOKHAVEN, PA

Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) shares the vision of their founder and creator, Alexandra “Alex” Scott—a cure for all children with cancer. Their mission is to raise money and awareness of childhood cancer, it's causes, and primarily to fund research into new treatments and cures. They also seek to encourage and empower others, especially children, to get involved and make a difference for children with cancer.

For years, I’ve donated my services to silent auctions, worked events, sung for donations to raise money, and donated my children’s time (they were willingly sacrificed) for this wonderful cause.

BE BOLD, BE BALD!

BOSTON, MA

Be Bold, Be Bald! is a national fundraising event held on the third Friday of October each year, and takes place wherever you are. Participants go bald by boldly wearing a bald cap (or very boldly shaving their head) to honor those who bravely fight cancer and raise money to help fight back.  Participants get sponsored for their bold move, and choose the charity they want their proceeds to benefit.  The purpose is to raise money for cancer charities, honor loved ones, and gain a little more understanding about one of the challenges many people with cancer face.

Marie gives all of her Reiki students a "BE BOLD" bald cap with their Reiki certification.   Students are invited to join her team, "Marie And The Reiki Babies," to raise money and go bald for the day once a year.  Click on the link below to meet our team members and donate to our cause:

HAVERTOWN, PA

Their mission is to provide high quality, community-based therapeutic, supportive, and preventive behavioral healthcare services to assess, treat and empower children, adolescents and families with mental health, developmental disability, and residential needs.

I donate my time to give Reiki to the staff on staff development days, donate services for fund raising events and auctions, and work with my therapy dog, Bella, with the center’s special needs students. I am proud of the work I do with the CGRC and to be of support to their amazing and compassionate staff.

MANNA (Metropolitan Area Neighborhood Nutrition Alliance)

Philadelphia, PA

MANNA is a non-profit organization that cooks and delivers nutritious, medically-appropriate meals  and provides nutrition counseling to neighbors who are battling life-threatening illnesses such as cancer, renal disease and HIV/AIDS.  Through their delivery of 3 meals a day, 7 days a week, MANNA provides hope and nourishment to the Greater Philadelphia area and Southern New Jersey.

Volunteers are the heart of MANNA;  each year 2500 caring neighbors chop, cook, dice and deliver meals – enabling MANNA to provide all meals and counseling FREE OF CHARGE.

I have worked in MANNA kitchens and helping gather donations. They do necessary work.

NANCY’S HOUSE

Wyncote, PA

Nancy’s House is a non-profit organization that gives caregivers the tools and strategies they need to stay stronger and healthier while caring for their ill loved ones. They provide programs, community-building, and advocacy to help break the isolation and exhaustion of caregiving. This amazing group creates the opportunity for caregivers to step out of their stressful lives, connect with others walking the same path. This is an amazing organization that recognizes the incredibly hard work our caregivers give our loved ones and provides invaluable resources.

I am proud to have provided Zentangle meditation classes for Nancy’s House’s Loosening the Caregiving Knot: Caregivers’ Conference in 2019
